The Rhinoplasty Society

The Rhinoplasty Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the open exchange of innovative ideas and techniques concerning rhinoplastic surgery. The Society consists of Surgeons throughout the World who specialize in rhinoplasty. The Annual Meeting provides a forum for invited and  submitted papers in a peer-reviewed format. The Society seeks to provide educational material in a provocative program open to surgical specialists with interest in rhinoplasty.

A Brief History...

A group of 23 plastic surgeons from the United States and abroad have formed The Rhinoplasty Society, intended as an educational forum for plastic surgeons and facial plastic surgeons deeply committed to aesthetic and reconstructive nasal surgery. This Society originally began as a study group some years ago, and its participating members found it rewarding enough that we have formalized its structure, drafted and approved By-Laws, incorporated the Society, and had our first formal meeting preceding the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Annual Meeting in May of 1997, at which the first President, Jack H. Sheen, MD presided.

The goal of the Society is education. We have deliberately structured our By-Laws so that its plastic surgeon and facial plastic surgeon members will have equal representation on the Board of Directors and in voting rights; all measures adopted by the Society must have the approval of each group. Furthermore, the intention of the Founding Members is that this Society continue to function largely as an educational forum for its members, to allow surgeons who have a strong clinical, teaching, and research interest in rhinoplasty to exchange and develop ideas and to work out problems in a common forum of mutual respect and collegiality.
