David L. Cangello, MD, FACS
Dr. Cangello attended Hamilton College for his undergraduate education and later advanced to Johns Hopkins University, earning a Master of Science degree from the Division of Reproductive Biology and Department of Biochemistry. He further developed his medical knowledge and gained valuable experience while spending an additional year performing scientific research in the field of cardiac transplantation at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Cangello has studied under and worked with some of the leading figures in medical research. In fact, he is one of only two surgeons in the world trained by Dr. Sydney Coleman, a pioneer of the fat grafting technique. Dr. Cangello later co-authored a chapter in Dr. Coleman’s book titled, “Fat Injection From Filling to Regeneration” regarding correction of liposuction deformities with fat transfer.
Dr. Cangello received his Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. His residency was completed in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, where he was trained by some of the leading innovators in surgery. After finishing training in general surgery, Dr. Cangello completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Temple University in Philadelphia. Throughout this period of rigorous training and education, Dr. Cangello established a foundation of excellence that he continues to uphold in his career.
