Dr. Paul M Parker, is a double board certified plastic surgeon in private practice in Paramus, New Jersey with a special interest in rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction. Dr Parker graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Society with a degree in Chemistry from Union College in Schenectady, New York. After graduating George Washington University Medical School in Washington, DC, he moved to New York City for his residency training.

Dr. Parker’s post-doctoral training included a General Surgery Residency at New York University Medical Center under Dr. Frank Spencer including his fifth year spent as Chief Resident. He followed this with his training as a Plastic Surgery Resident and Chief Resident at NYU in its Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery under Dr. Joseph McCarthy, including his final year as Executive Chief Resident. Dr. Parker spent an additional Fellowship year at NYU in Microsurgery including significant time spent on plastic surgery research. While at NYU, Dr. Parker received the Theodore Barnett Award for Excellence in Teaching. Following his training, Dr. Parker helped teach plastic surgical techniques to the residents at NYU for several years as a Clinical Instructor in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Parker has been certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the following organizations:

  • International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
  • The Rhinoplasty Society
  • Fellow American College of Surgeons

Dr. Parker was fortunate to train under master surgeons at New York University Medical Center and its affiliate at the time, the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He learned advanced and innovative plastic surgery techniques from Drs. McCarthy, Daniel Baker, Sherrell Aston and Bill Shaw among others. He learned advanced rhinoplasty techniques from rhinoplasty experts Drs Tom Rees and Nick Tabbal.

Dr. Parker has always remembered Dr. McCarthy telling him during his training that nasal reconstruction and rhinoplasty are the mark of a plastic surgeon—their technical challenges are demanding. From early on in his training, Dr. Parker has been fascinated by the intricacies of creating an aesthetically beautiful nose.

Dr. Parker is an attending physician at nearby Hackensack University Medical Center and The Valley Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of Surgiplex, a free standing ambulatory surgical center in Paramus.
